Meine FTF diese Woche ist/ My FTF this week is....

LONDON

As some of you know or ecpected, I got to spent a few days in London. My husband, my daughter an I went to London from Wednesday to Sunday to visit my stepdaughter who is there on an internship for three months. And once we finally got there (the flight to London was delayed for two hours) it was awesome.

Well first of all I am going to tell you  about the bad things. I honestly believe that the people in London should learn to speak English. Man, I always thought my English was good enough to get along, but can anyone be so wrong?? Obviously, since I basically didn´t understand them and say pretended not to understand me...and than there were way too many people. Gee, you were sometimes hardly able to switch sides so you could go into a store.
And of course the worst part about London was that Tikki - the Quilt store in London - was on summer vacation exactly that one week. Is that fair?? O.K. I admit kiddo and I got rid of our savings anyways, but it was frustrating.
And than there is the fact that you have to spent a million hours at the airport for a one-hour-flight. You have to be at the airport two hours in advance, wait in line, check in, go to your gate, hang around, than 30 (!!!) minutes after the original boarding time we finally were told that the plane was two hours late....grrr...and the flight back was also one and a half hours late. That sucks and was getting massively on my nerves.

Achtung!!!
O.K. but other than that it was a wonderful trip...and now a million and one pics...watch out!!!

At first I thought those people totally covered in burkas (which we didn´t take pictures off) were the real Londoners, than we thought..well that´s one...

and in the end we realized this must be the original Londoner..

Wir sahen alte Gebäude..
we saw old buildings ..

und neue..
and new ones..

Brücken...
bridges...

und Kirchen...
and churches...

London am Tag ..
London by day...

und bei Nacht..
and night..

Wir waren shoppen bei Harrods..
We went shopping at Harrods..

und auf dem Camden Market..
and Camden Market...

fanden Schokoladen Läden...
found awesome chocolate stores..

und schauten Strassentheater..
and watch street theater...

sahen seltsame Strassenschilder...
found strange traffic lights..

hatten Picknicks und Ruhepausen im Park
took brakes and had picnics in the park

and best of all we had a lot of fun...

Danke schön!
Thank you!!

We took 500 pics in three and a half days...it took me longer to decide which pics to show, than to finish the top of a quilt .-))

Looks like a great holiday, even with the airport woes. Great pictures.

I'm sorry about the non-favourite bits of London, but all in all it sounds like you had a good time. I bet it was great to have all the family together - something which happens rarely as the kids grow up.

That's the not so nice thing about flying, i don't like all the waiting around and it usually takes longer in the airport than it does to fly to the destination.
I love London, there are so many amazing things to see. I'm pleased you had a nice holiday.

Airports have been a nightmare for years and getting worse all the time. Although saying that in April when I flew from Heathrow to Ireland I had a perfect trip.

Glad you enjoyed most of your holiday but I must know, where was that chocolate shop?

How fun! You went to nearly all the places I have dreamed of going. Sorry the Tiki was closed though. I watch a lot of British tv and I can't even understand them sometimes.

What a shame the only week the store was closed...would have been my luck too if it was something I really wanted. What great pictures you have shared with us. Trish

Firstly I think your English is terrific! I would be so proud of myself if I could speak another language as well as you do.
Secondly I agree with you I LOVE London too !
